Blago lies...It must be Monday!

***From the Sun-Times''What it says to me is that it gets to the point where promises really don't mean anything,'' said Rep. Elga Jefferies (D-Chicago), whose South Side district takes in the charred church.  ''That's about the bottom line. If you don't produce, then you come to be labeled as a person not of your word,'' she said.

You might recall that this is the church that burned during last year's '06 campaign for Gov and Blago said he would provide $1M to rebuild the church.  Instead the money he promised went to a private school that leased space from the church.  They took the money and are looking at buying a different building not associated with the church.  So, the church gets nothing.

When asked if this was a pattern with Hot Rod, the Spin Sister of the Day, Abby Ottenoff said noooooo, he's promised a lot a projects money & delivered.  Examples?  One example she cited was the controversial $3 million commitment he made to a campaign donor to help build a minor-league baseball stadium in Downstate Marion.

Now you understand.  Church during campaign season - no money.  Baseball stadium for rich trial lawyer from Metro East - all the money you need!!!

***How is it that the Sun-Times and other liberal media outlets are so willing to give a pass to left-wing terrorists because their 'transgressions' are in the distant past?  Remember, Blago has in his employ at a very high level a former Puerto Rican terrorist and now Obama likes to hang out with another.  In today's editorial, the Sun-Times says that it is time for conservative talk radio to move on from the Ayers' case and, yet, notes that Ayers still thinks about bombing things like he did in the '60 & '70s:

Ayers, it is true to say, remains sadly unreflective about his Weatherman days, as revealed in his memoir Fugitive Days. "I can't quite imagine putting a bomb in a building today -- all of that seems so distinctly a part of then," he writes. "But I can't imagine entirely dismissing the possibility, either."

***So, now the Chamber of Commerce, the business group in Springfield is advocating a HUGE tax increase.  Excellent.  What happened to business groups that fought taxes, that wanted less govt., that worked to protect jobs and the free-market economy and didn't rely on a bloated govt. to fix everything?

With businesses closing and jobs fleeing and Dist 186 crumbling and the state run out of Chicago and the economy slowing, this is a GREAT time to seek a gas tax and another hike in the sales tax.  This is the simpleton's way out of things - this is the Chicago/Cook County way out of things.  Don't cut anything; don't take a careful look at spending; bury your head in the sand and raise taxes.

With the city elections three years away, I guess the City Council believes that taxpayers will forget about the every increasing fees and taxes.  The hope from the Mayor and Q5 is that if the money can be ripped from our wallets and shoved into the treasury, Co-Mayors Daviln & Renfrom will be able to pave the streets in gold and buy everyone a chicken and a ticket to the circus and we'll be fat and happy and re-elect the lot of them.  UGH!

***Speaking of taxes- Chicago is now the highest taxed city in America!  What an achievement.  Come on, Springfield, with this Mayor and this Chamber of Commerce we can get there too!!!
