So, Oberweis can't even win in his home district, a heavily GOP district w/the backing of a lot of Repubs?  Will he go away?  Nope.  He gets to run again for the seat in November.  Ugh.

The Trib did an intersting projection piece on the Sox and the Cubs for this season.

Hopefully ISU can still grab an at-large bid.  Great season- ugly finish.

In NY and IL and states around the US, juries, judges and editorial boards are reluctant to impose the death penalty.  There are still cases, though, that call for the ultimate punishment.  IF the death penalty is not longer the ultimate punishment, what should be?

SJ-R editorializes AGAIN about the smoke-free Illinois Act.  If only they could come up with another way to impose their will on businesses, maybe we would stop reading about the dangers of smoking...
