Tuesday's Show
***This is my theory: The Clinton camp puts out that maybe the "Dream Team" can be put together with her as Prez and Obama as VP. Obama reacts by scoffing at such a suggestion. Not only does he scoff, but he derides Clinton for even suggesting such a thing. And, he continues to ride that pony into the MS primary today.
Now, the theory. Clinton's team is talking to the Super Delegates - not to Obama, not to the Press, not to the Voters - the party INSIDERS - elected officials, party hacks and hangers-on. They want the Dream Team! They want an easy way out of this mess and they believe this is the easy way out and the way, they believe, to win in November.
She offers the solution KNOWING that Obama will swat it away; will not take it seriously; and now becomes the person responsible for the mess in Denver. Additionally, by dismissing a solution, Obama looks out of step with the Democratic Party - he is to be considered an outsider by the very people who would like to see a little loyalty to the Party. After all, these are the INSIDERS - they are the ultimate party loyalists.
The Clinton camp, I believe, has played Obama for the newbie he is. Clinton puts up the solution which Obama knocks out of the air displaying his need to go it alone and at the same time acknowledging that he is willing to destroy the party to get what he wants.
***Spitzer goes down. As we said about Craig and Vitter and every other politician who holds the public's trust, Spitzer should resign and never run again.
***As full of himself as Spitzer was, so too were the US House Republicans w/Hastert as Speaker. How much has changed in 3 1/2 years...
***We've made a big deal out of the fact that Neil Steinberg from the Sun-Times doesn't like Springfield or downstate Illinois. HOWEVER, when the local paper believes that running a front page photo and article, INCLUDING THE STRATEGY, for the super-market sweepstakes winner in Chatham, we think Steinberg might be on to something. Why doesn't the SJ-R just got a weekly and be done with it?
***This is the trouble with be critical or negative in a campaign against The Obama. Every slight or perceived slight will be labled racist even is no such intent was there or evident. Ironically, the author, a Harvard professor, doesn't seem bothered by the fact that he likes Obama because he is trying to break from the past while at the same time this prof can't seem to get beyond the past himself.
***This is what gives lawyers a BAD name.
