Thursday's Schtuff

***Blago's people say he's fine with the Recall bill put forth by the IL GA.  Of course, his major legislative ally, State Representative Jay "That's bull***" Hoffman has some other thoughts on the bill.

***Zorn blasts The Obama's bowling style.  Look at what The Obama's guru has to say about the bowling misadventure:

"The idea wasn't to have him bowl, the idea was to have him go to a bowling alley," said Obama's chief strategist David Axelrod. "Apparently some advance person decided it would be a good idea to have him roll a game."

So, what The Ax is saying is that the idea was for The Obama to go to a bowling alley pretending to be a real person, not to ACTUALLY be a real person an bowl.  Do the photo-op, claim to love the family game of bowling and skeedaddle...

***Here's another great Blago idea - steal more dedicated funds so that his administration can continue to increase spending by millions and millions of dollars.  Hmmm, maybe if we use the dedicated funds to bribe the House Members, they'll go along with it.

***It is almost as if Spfld Park Dist President Leslie Sgro has become so ensconced in the Blago Administration that she doesn't even live in Spfld anymore.  When discussing the idiotic suggestion that the Park Board take over the KMart site on MacArthur, Sgro has this to say:

“What we recommend is the business association have the chamber of commerce, maybe some local developers, and the city of Springfield come in and look at a comprehensive solution for that piece of the MacArthur corridor because it truly needs some TLC,” Sgro said.

Really?  Do you think that might be a good idea????  Where the Hell has she been?!?!?!  The MacArthur BLVD Business Assn has been around for about three years trying to figure out something for all of MacArthur.  They have not only 'met' with the Chamber and developers, they have been active, active, active in trying to re-build this business corridor.  Where has Leslie been?

***

***Finally, Blago sent a flunky to testify in the investigation regarding the $1 Million Dollars that he sent 'by mistake' to a school that doesn't exist run by a woman who received a quicky expungement of her violent criminal record.  The flunky, Dep. Gov Louanner Peters, just didn't seem to have any answers.  Suprise.  Suprise.

But at least 59 times in the roughly 90-minute hearing, Peters professed ignorance toward what Blagojevich has called a "bureaucratic mistake."

The best line of the day, though, is from one of Blago's press monkeys

Peters did not answer questions after the hearing. “Walk fast,” a Blagojevich spokeswoman told her as reporters followed her down the Capitol hall.
