It's Tough Being Gov

***UPDATE:  I found the training session from a press release from '02 from the WI Governor-elect!

***At yesterday's Governor's Prayer Breakfast, at which Blago actually showed up, from the SJ-R:

During his speech, Blagojevich also addressed criticism by legislators and others about the way he does his job, saying he doesn’t have a “fancy governing philosophy.”

“When you’re elected governor, and I have had that opportunity and privilege twice now, it’s not like you get the chance to go to governor’s school,” Blagojevich said. “They don’t have a school for new governors, you just sort of have to figure out how to do the job.”

To begin with, this is from the same guy who is proud to get a 'C' in Constitutional Law at Law School.  Secondly, Blago is wrong.  There is, essentially, a new governors school put on by the National Governors Association immediately following election of governors.  I believe it is 3-5 days in early December where the NGA gathers together governors-elect and talks about selecting staff, important things to worry about from day one, transition teams, etc., etc., etc.  Finally, does this guy actually think that people are going to feel bad for him because the Gov's job is tough?!?!?!

Being Governor is a tough job - he should've known that before he ran.  If he wanted a nice, safe, comfy, EASY job, he should've stayed in Congress!

***From the Steve Chapman column in the Trib:

And its bark is worse than its bite. As of March 31, there had been 87 homicides in the city. When I asked the Chicago Police Department how many of the murders are known to have involved assault rifles, the answer came back: One.

One.  One murder by 'assault weapon' in Chicago where they are outlawed anyway.

Chapman concludes with:

Gun control hasn't worked as a remedy for crime. So what makes anyone think the answer is more gun control?

Amen.

***So, two Democrats are looking at introducing an impeachment resolution.  Good for them.  Where are the Republican members?  Why haven't they put forth articles of impeachment?!?!?
