Barn Door
***Thanks to Bernie for sharing this little tidbit about the Mayor and his inability to fully dress himself in the morning...The Mayor has a long history of forgetting to 'finish the job'...

***Ironic that the same time there is a groundswell for a recall provision and greater ethics legislation another GIGANTIC pay raise is in the offing for the Gov and legislators...
Under a recommendation from the state’s Compensation Review Board, lawmakers would see their base salary jump by more than $7,000 to nearly $73,000 a year by next summer. Pay for legislative leaders would top more than $100,000.
Despite the absence of Cook County Board President Todd Stroger, about 100 people turned out for a special meeting of the Palatine Village Council on Wednesday, where discussion of high county taxes soon turned to talk of secession.
"I'd like to congratulate all of you in taking this courageous step in finally fighting this unbelievably corrupt Cook County," resident Roman Golash, 58, told the council.
The County Board, Golash said, "is just always raising the taxes, higher and higher."
***For those of us in Springfield who understand that it is NOT a God given right to blow thru red lights whenever the mood strikes us, this was a great campaign ended by IDOT...Good for this Mayor in coming up with a smart way to get people to obey rules of the road!
***The NYT, as with many other liberal outlets, opine that a gas tax holiday won't do anything for gas prices. In fact, they say that removing the tax will only result in higher prices because people will head right out and drive more. ALSO, they say that summer gas prices are higher because there is greater demand.
Of course, gas prices are higher in summer months because the liberal Dems have demanded that there be dozens and dozens of different gas formulations across the country and gas companies have to get those fomulations out there.
But it doesn't stop there. The NYT pulls out the tried and true Liberal mantra that taxes aren't high enough!!
Higher, not lower, prices are an important way to spur the needed technological innovation and curb demand.
***Here you go...higher taxes for fast food...all for health care...ugh!

Gov. Rod Blagojevich could get a pay raise of more than $20,000 — bringing his salary to more than $190,000 a year.
***Of course there are too many hurdles for this to happen. But, isn't it GREAT to see some people are sick and tired of dealing with the crap in Cook County?!?!?Despite the absence of Cook County Board President Todd Stroger, about 100 people turned out for a special meeting of the Palatine Village Council on Wednesday, where discussion of high county taxes soon turned to talk of secession.
