Mad As Hell
***Sen. Durbin, the number 2 Dem in DC, says he is going to WRITE A LETTER to Hot Rod about his displeasure about the IDOT political scam. A LETTER!?!?!?! And if that doesn't work, Durbin HOPES that the GA will do something.
āIām going to be writing to the governor and asking for an explanation,ā Durbin said.
That's it. That's the extent of his outrage regarding how Hot Rod is treating the State and Durbin's Hometown - a letter and hope. Thanks, Dick, for nothin'.
***Hey, Tom, can you even spell Impeachment? How close does this crap have to get to your district? Isn't Pontiac close enough for you to actually do something of substance? At this point, why do you care what the Speaker or the President or, your good friend, Hot Rod think of you? DO SOMETHING!!
Today, call Minority Leader Tom Cross' office and demand impreachment - (815) 254-0000 & (217) 782-1331
***Even before the polls opened, when columnist Mary Mitchell was writing this piece, she was already saying that if The Obama loses in Indiana 'fear mongering' will have won; that The Obama will lose because of racists.
OR, The Obama might be losing because he and his wife don't seem to like America and are very open about it. Oh, and, Hillary is pandering with the best of them with this roll back of the gas tax and attacking oil companies...The Obama doesn't like to pander. Maybe he doesn't like to win, either.
***While Hot Rod complains about the $750M state budget hole, that he created, and howls about the need to same more state $$$, out of the other side of his mouth, he announces BRAND NEW PROGRAMS!!
Today's BRAND NEW PROGRAM is $150M for 'anti-violence programming' - teen jobs & after school programs. How much of this $$$ will actually appear? Probably none. This is just another press pop with kids and then nothing will happen...Another day in Paradise...
***At least, AG Lisa Madigan is taking on the HARD CORE issues. What, investigating the Governor? Nope. Taking a look at how the Admin 'lost' $1M? Nope. Asking questions about pay-to-play? Nope. Our little Ms. Madigan sent a sternly worded letter to a drink manufacturer with a product called 'Blow'. Really. Must be tough to be such a servant of the people in these trying times...
***Not much, if anything, in the Chicago papers about Pontiac closing. At least TV news picked up on this shocker.
***The Daily Herald doesn't seem to get it...But what would be bad policy is if legislators, acting out frustration over failure of recall, followed through with calls for impeachment proceedings against the No. 1 target of the recall movement - Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Hot Rod has made IL the laughing stock of the country & is embroiled in one of the largest corruption trials in IL history which is saying something. The Daily Herald though thinks we shouldn't take the drastic step of impeachment. Wrong.
