Monday in July + Update

***In the midst of another puff piece about The Obama in the NYT, this interesting bit:

It is clear that the benefit of those years to Mr. Obama dwarfs what he accomplished. Mr. Kellman said that Mr. Obama had built the organization’s following among needy residents and black ministers, but “on issues, we made very little progress, nothing that would change poverty on the South Side of Chicago.”

So, The Obama did a good job organizing people but didn't get anything accomplished?  Hmmm.  Sounds like everything he has done.  All blow and no go...

UPDATE***This from an article I remembered from a US News puff piece last summer:

Perhaps his most confrontational effort was to pressure city authorities to remove asbestos from the apartments in 1986. When the on-site manager didn't take action, Obama nudged the residents into confronting city housing officials in two angry public meetings downtown. These generated "a victory of sorts," Obama said later, as workers soon began sealing the asbestos in the buildings. But the project gradually ran out of steam and money. In fact, some tenants still have asbestos in their homes, according to current resident Linda Randle, 53, who worked with Obama in the '86 anti-asbestos campaign.

The Obama didn't finish that project either?!?!?  Huh.

***First the fireworks fiasco in Downtown Springfield and then THIS!  No wonder I couldn't finish the NYT crossword puzzle yesterday.  Jeesh!

***Novak has a good column today that should serve as warning to GOP 'leaders' in Illinois...

***Yet another example of The Obama attempting to have it both ways.  Now the issue is late-term abortions.  Doesn't this guy stand on principle for ANYTHING?

***The Obama is NOT a lying liar who lies...His campaign manager is.
