What Dog Days?

This kind of says it all.  Of course, Kelm and Kirk said it all yesterday.  But this is a great toon from Brit:

DON'T FORGET TO CALL 789-2151 TO FIND OUT WHO YOUR ALDERMAN IS AND HOW TO CONTACT THEM.  THEN CALL THEM AND VOICE YOUR OPPOSITION TO THIS DAVLIN/RENFROW PLAN!

***Now we find out that the Governor's Office found two stooge SIU 'economics professors' to gin up some phony numbers to give to COGFA in defense of their indefensible position that moving IDOT Traffic Safety to Harrisburg makes economic sense.  Does it seem like Poshard has sold his last shred of integrity to this administration in hops of some Capital crumbs?

***The media frenzy over JonBenet Ramsey years ago was over the top and disgusting.  We have said repeatedly on the show that the media is overly focused on 'dead white chicks'.  As a parent, I can't imagine losing a child to murder, no less, and then being accused/suspected of such an horrible act.  To take the knowledge of not knowing what happened to one's grave-absolutely aweful to contemplate.  Thank God for new technology that led the Boulder Co. DA to clear the Ramsey's and FINALLY start looking for the real killer.

***Gosh, if we could only find a way to drill for more native oil supply and expand refinery capacity, prices might go down.  Oh, wait, companies are trying to expand capacity right in our backyard, but BIG ENVIRONMENT is suing to stop the expansion.  Shocking.  No, not really...

***Why is the media so crazed about the Jesse Jackson comments?  The thing that most of them seem baffled by is Jackson's comments that he believes The Obama is 'talking down' to black people.  Why is that hard to believe?  The Obama talks down to everyone.  He wags his finger.  He tells the media and voters that we haven't been listening to him.  He changes positions and then brazenly says he hasn't.  He refers to everything that is distasteful to him or casts him in a poor light as a diversion and the 'politics of old'.  His ENTIRE campaign is built around 'talking down' to us!  "Cling to their guns and religion"  Was it that long ago that the media forgot that insult?
