$180,000 for what?

***The CWLP engineering mafia are worth another $180,000 per year PLUS a good sized raise next year PLUS whatever raise non-union employees get every year after that.  That makes sense...

Jay Bartlett, the Chief Utilities Engineer, the man in charge of the Dalman I explosion will be paid $195,000/year if these contracts pass the City Council.  Remember, these are the five guys who were in charge when the plant blew up and not one has seen any discipline nor taken responsibility.  Rather, they all get raises.  That makes sense, doesn't it?

If these guys really want to experience the 'private sector' so badly, let them walk.  If they believe that the private sector would REWARD their poor performance with HUGE salary increases, they're in for a wake up call, to say the least.

If you don't know how to get in touch with your alderman, call 789-2151 and find out!  You have to make sure your alderman votes no on these contracts, on the proposal to remove the 5% cap and on the proposed ordinance to allow Renfrow/Davlin to give raises to these 5 individuals.  VOTE NO!

***We are talking with House GOP Leader Tom Cross at 10am this morning about the House Republican's
"Agenda for Action". You can take a look at the proposal for yourself and see what you think.

***Oh, yeah, that's right, with all of the talk about Blago's 'cuts' to the budget, we're all forgetting that without action by the IL Senate, the legislators and the Governor will get their obscene raises.  I guess Emil Jones will finally be able to go off 'food stamps'...

***Big Brother, as Orwell imagined it, isn't necessarily the government, we come to find.  Granted there are certainly Big Brother elements in the government, especially local and state government in IL.  HOWEVER, we've said on the show numerous times that the most restrictive, most nanny-like elements are those in the Industrial Health Complex.  The do-gooders will stop at nothing to make sure we save ourselves from ourself.  Great column in the Trib today.

***At least the Tribune got the New Yorker cover.  Jeesh!

***The reason, appearantly, that we can't make fun of The Obamais:  He's not funny!  Got it.
