Hot Monday

***Post Dispatch covers mgt. problems within Crazy Rod's administration.  No leadership, no management, no accountability.  Illinois, a great place to call home...

***Kristol on the VP selection process.

***I know it is a Chicago newspaper, but Carol Marin in the Sun Times, has now written at least two columns about the 2010 race for Governor and not even mentioned one GOP contender.  Her focus is completely on potential Dems.  Chicago is so Dem-centric that they can't imagine that a GOP candidate could win any longer in Illinois.  Even after 8 years of Crazy Rod...

***There have been a number of articles out there decrying the lack of interest from the two major candidates regarding education, poverty, homelessness, etc.  Remember, Rev. Jackson in New Orleans demanding that the candidates pay attention to poverty and other 'urban' issues.  McCain has been rattling the eduation chains for the entire campaign but the media has largely ignored his reform ideas.  Why?  They include vouchers for poor families to get out of failing schools.  This is from McCain in the NY Daily News:

I am proud to add my name to the growing list of those who support the Education Equality Project. But one name is still missing: Barack Obama. My opponent talks a great deal about hope and change, and education is an important test of his seriousness. The Education Equality Project is a practical plan for delivering change and restoring hope for children and parents who need a lot of both. And if Sen. Obama continues to defer to the teachers unions, instead of committing to real reform, then he should start looking for new slogans.

***GOP lawmakers in DC are actually doing something.  It might be a publicity stunt, but that seems to be the only thing that the Majority Democrats listen to.  Good for them!

***You want nanny-statism, move to SF.  Mandatory recycling and trash sorting in in the offing from Mayor Newsom.  Clearly the Mayor is too busy with proposing $1000 finesfor not sorting your trash and he has been unable to get his illegal immigration fiasco under control.

***Climate change is a superstition.
