Sunday Edition

***The weather could not be better, so here's a bit from this Sunday...

***Took in the Music Man last night at The Muni.  I have friends in the production but have to agree with the SJ-R review from last week - it was not the best the effort.  In large part it seemed that direction and design were woefully inadequate for the talent they had in the cast.

***The SJ-R this morning would like to remind us that their editorial board is more than happy to be led down Renfrow/Davlin blind alleys when it comes to CWLP.  After jumping on the salary increase band wagon a couple of weeks ago, the SJ-R continues to defend this fiasco even after it all proved to be another fantasy crisis.

Since the City Council killed the idea of the 'needed' pay raises, the CWLP bond rating has improved and it has been announced that it will come in under budget and finished earlier than scheduled.  All of this without the pay raises being approved.

***It is too bad about Bernie Mac.  As we were saying on Friday's show, 50 is the new 30 and still way to early to go.

***Beer goggles in college NEVER cost anyone $150.  But in Buffalo Grove, things can be pricey I guess...

***Maureen Dowd dissects John Edwards.  Do you think the SJ-R is going to get around to publishing that Coulter column now?  Yeah.  Probably not.

***Swimmer or not.  Swim parent or not.  The U.S. Team is tremendous and Phelps is crazy.  We saw Phelps swim in Omaha in July as well as Dara Torres, Hoff, Lochte and the other no so famous swimmers.  It was an unreal experience.  If you haven't gone to an Olympic Trials, if they are nearby for ANY sport, go.  The experience makes you proud to be an American!
