Cat Fight Day
***It's Governor/Democrat Day at the IL State Fair. Could it get even uglier than it already is?
***The Commission did its job - recommend against moving 100+ jobs from Spfld to H'burg. Crazy Rod did his - say that, as King, he was going to do it anyway. And, the lawsuits are getting ready to role. Crazy Rod has said that anyone who wants to stay in Spfld will be given a job w/the same salary & benefits. Of course, there isn't any reason to trust that or anything to back up this statement - just 'his word'.
After the Sale of Champions last night, they were scooping up a lot of 'his word' from the auction ring...
***The Spfld City Council is set to apologize for the Race Riots of 1908. Do these apologies mean anything to anyone? Even the NAACP doesn't think they mean anything: “They’re just words on paper,” Page said. “How does that translate to 2008? … What I would like to see, what I think is important, is a recognition that a wrong was done, not only by apologizing, but by making sure this would never happen again. I know it’s the first step in making change.”
Were the riots aweful? Absolutely. But if they were so aweful, what else should rise to an apology? How about the deplorable conditions of the SHA prior to Madison Park Place? What about the high number of unsolved murders in Spfld today?
***We've argued on the show that a new multi-use facility, perhaps at Southwinds Park, could attract a real minor league club. The SJ-R argues similarly this morning. However, that is not going to hapen anytime soon - so, go out an support the Sliders. The games are cheap and a ton of fun!!! Oh, and, they don't even pay us a dime for all of the support we give them (hint, hint).
***The IL Senate actually voted against the legislative/executive pay raises yesterday, 47-0. Of course, Evil Emil couldn't let the opportunity pass without: Senate President Emil Jones, (D-Chicago) voted ''present'' on the raise and called opponents ''hypocrites'' for objecting to the money while accepting a 3.8 percent cost-of-living increase included in this year's budget.
See what happens when sunshine exposes the backroom dealings of powerbrokers. The legislators realized that people were watching and were going to take action in November.
Pelosi is experiencing the same thing in DC over the energy issue.
***''I'm disappointed that after lawmakers asked for a Special Session to fund education, the House called it quits after just a half-hour,'' Blagojevich said. ''There are a number of solutions and proposals that I have introduced that could have been discussed, but instead, some members used their time to point fingers and offer excuses.'' - Crazy Rod's statement after the GA quit for the day.
As was pointed out on the show yesterday by Speaker Madigan's Press Secretary Steve Brown (this plug is for Steve because we know he has an intern Google his name every other day), normally a Special Session has legislation to discuss; usually there is a specific crisis that needs immediate attention.
Crazy Rod called a session, saying they asked for it - Sen. Meeks was the only one who asked that something be done about education. Crazy Rod thought that if he tossed out the topic, like Alex Trebec, the GA would sit around like Bohemians in a coffee shop and develop a workable solution and pass legislation.
Seriously, were are the Articles of Impeachment.
***Speaking of impeachment, if you missed the interview with Steve Brown, he reiterated that Speaker Madigan is neutral on impreachment. However, Mr. Brown pointed out the very real concern that Crazy Rod would use impeachment as another me & the people vs. the powerbrokers; that he might become a martyr.
Do it anyway.
***Congress is considering banning menthols because they are marketed towards African-Americans. So. McDonald's is marketing their new chicken sandwich towards African-Americans. What about Tanqueray Rangpur (mmmm, by the way) and their commerical featuring an African-American spokesperson? Should Congress consider banning lime infused Gin to protect a class of Americans from years of yummy G & Ts?
This is yet another example of Nanny-State Govt. bias against African-Americans. The do-gooders, mostly White, feel the need to step in because, they believe, that African-Americans cannot decide for themselves regarding smoking or a host of other issues.
***John Kass on Crazy Rod: It's unsettling when a political leader happily wears the trappings of the clown and dances down the street banging a tambourine, skipping lightly in curly-toed shoes, bells jingling, to amuse the mob.
And, he is dead on target with the IL GOP: The Illinois Republican Party is so lacking in brains and backbone that it can't offer an alternative to what the Democrats are doing to the state and its taxpayers.
***The Durbin Fairness Doctrine & the Internet: Not just for Talk Radio, anymore...
***Maureen Down on HRC: Hillary’s orchestrating a play within the play in Denver. Just as Hamlet used the device to show that his stepfather murdered his father, Hillary will try to show the Democrats they chose the wrong savior.
***We're at the Fair all week. Stop on by right inside Gate 2.

Beijing (CNS) -- Oil prices should decrease during 2012, as supplies from sources other than the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries are increasing and oil production resumes in Libya, a recent report predicted. The report was released by thnfl replica jerseyse Economics and Technology Research Institute (ETRI) under the auspices of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) on Thursday. The estimates are based on the relatively stable status of the Iran issue, the authors underscore, which for now indicates Iranian oil exports to the world will probably remoncler vest menmain constant. Though the price is likely to climb during the second half, the year average will still be below that of 2011, it points out.Detailed expectations are that the world's oil demands, mostly from non-OECD countries, will increase by one million barrels per day, fully met by the daily supply increase of 1.5 million barrels. Demmoncler spring discountands of the OECD countries will wane the report asserts.Natural gas consumption, another vital part of world's current energy consumption, amounted to 3.25 trillion cubic meters in 2011, a demand just met by 3.26 trillion in supply. The Asia-Pacific region is more dependent on natural gas than ever, with an hike of 11.5 percent in cMoncler Men's Jacketsonsumption within 2011, yet the same European market is shrinking by 6 percent during the same period.Brazil was the main contributor to the oil reserve increase during 2011, while Iran and Russia are the two countries that have been more active in the exploration of natural gas reserves. Global oil gas exploration is expected to attract US$ 59.8 billion in investments in 2012.The report also touches on U.S. oil consumption, where the market has had some success with weaning itself from its dependence on oil exports by deploying technology-based transformations in energy use modes and energy efficiency.
