Kansas City. No, St. Louis. No, Cedar Rapids.

***Crazy Rod pulled out his AV crayon yesterday and scribbled on another piece of legislation and actually said words that should make any rationale Illinois voter explode with anger and frustration:  “The system in state government today is one that works for itself at the expense of the people. It’s one that we’ve been working to change … The changes that I’m proposing today will do that,” Blagojevich said.

The ONLY reason that Crazy Rod altered this legislation is to give himself more time to raise gobs and gobs of money from contractors who do business with the state.  He's bee doing it all summer and he will continue to do it all the way thru the Veto Session and until the very last day he can get away with it.  For him to lie thru his teeth and say he's bee working to change the system is ludicrous.  He has only changed the system so that it works better for him and, maybe, Emil Jones.  Although, Jones clearly can take care of himself.

Once, again, where is the outrage from the Republicans?  At what point will one GOP House member introduce impeachment proceedings.  How far does Illinois have to fall before they jump up and down and scream from the rooftops that this Governor is destroying our state?  Of course, if you make waves in IL politics, you might not get a road paved in your district or your might not get a school addition or you might not get some other precious capitol project that you've been promised.  Well, if that is the criteria, talk to the Board, Faculty, Staff, Students, Parents and Taxpayers of Rochester!

***Meeks would make a better argument if he didn't always seem to be attempting to extort someone or something.  First, he said he would run for Gov UNLESS eductation funding reform was promised.  Now, he says he will go ahead with a boycott of the first day of school and march on New Trier UNLESS he gets his way with a new plan for education reform.

This time, Meeks and Gidwitz-the failed primary Gov candidate from '06-would 'take over' 12 failing high schools across Illinois and, with $120M in state funds 'fix them.'  So, rather than reform the system, they've decided to establish their own system with state money.  Then, presumably, if it works they will expand their ideas to other districts in IL.

From the TribThe proposal could lay the groundwork for the long-sought statewide overhaul of public school funding, possibly including a tax increase, once the 2010 race for governor is over.

Of course, Gidwitz has been touting himself as a gubernatorial candidate for '10.  Nobody else is really touting him for the race, but he sure is tooting his own horn.  I wonder how a possible tax increase AFTER the election will go down with voters?

***Aside from many Dems no longer being sure that The Obama is the right candidate, they have to be concerned with the other most powerful woman in the Dem Party.  Botox Nancy stepped up to the abortion plate on Sunday and hit a dying squib right back to the mound.  From Newsweek:

Then there are the multiple confusions of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In her "Meet the Press" appearance Aug. 24, Pelosi was asked by Tom Brokaw whether she agreed with Senator Obama's statements on abortion at Saddleback. Pelosi, declaring herself an "ardent, practicing Catholic," told Brokaw that "this is an issue that I have studied for a long time"—and then got herself into a deep muddle, in which she seemed to confuse St. Augustine with St. Thomas Aquinas (neither of whom, in any case, knew anything about modern embryology); misrepresented the settled (and scientifically informed) judgment of the Catholic Church on when life begins by declaring it an open question, and concluded by suggesting that none of this really makes a difference, because what the scientists, theologians, and philosophers say "... shouldn't have an impact on a the woman's right to choose." The Speaker then misrepresented the legal impact of Roe v. Wade, arguing that the Supreme Court hadn't created a right to "abortion on demand"—which will come as news to those on both sides of the ongoing debates over partial-birth abortion and other late-term abortion procedures, parental- and spousal-notifications laws and regulatory oversight of abortion clinics.

If the Catholics and Evangelicals, groups that The Obama has been courting, are OK with this as the current Dem thinking about abortion, they should vote from The Obama and turn in their church membership the next day.

***The race card is only being trotted out by The Obama and Democrats who are so blinded by His brillance that they can't believe there is any other reason NOT to vote for him other than racism.  The WSJ has a good commentary on that line of BS today.

There are plenty of people who have reasons not to vote for Obama wihtout being racist. However, you seem to totally discount the fact that race factors into the campaign at all. Do all white people really believe that racism is no longer a factor in day to day living? Sometimes I get the feeling that you don't know any black people, nor do you interact with them.
There are plenty of people out there who will refuse to vote for Obama just because he is black, and those numbers are probably higher than you would think. There's still plenty of subtle racism that goes on right here in Springfield, and I believe it's the same in other places.

Appreciate the comment & thanks for listening!  Clearly there are people who won't vote for Obama because they are racist.  There are also people who won't vote for McCain because of racism.  However, the liberal press has already declared that the ONLY reason Obama will lose is because of racism - they are ignoring all of the policies that he is proposing that, at least currently, 50% of American doesn't want.

As an aside, regarding your comments about not knowing any black people, let me just say that you have no idea what you're talking about.

      Thanks, again.
