Remember
***In this 24-7 news cycle driven country, we don't pause enough to remember events that shaped us; that shaped the country. Today is one of those days. There are two days in my life that I remember vividly - the Challenger disaster and 9-11.
Growing up I always heard the stories of how people remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when they heard that JFK had been shot. 9-11 is like that for me.

***NYT is right today about Ground Zero - clear the roadblocks and get it done: It is not fair to say nothing has been done. The subterranean work has started, obviously the first step in moving upward to a cluster of skyscrapers around a park and memorial. Yet the political terrain has always been the rockiest at ground zero.
One the problems, of course, is all of the 'stakeholders' that have to be consulted. Another, all of the layers of bureaucracy in a city like NYC. Of course, many of the roadblocks that NYT rightfully wants moved out of the way, were promoted by NYT to protect this group or that or put in place regulation on top of regulation.
It is time for the politicians to make the legislative changes necessary so that the proper reconstruction can take place & a fitting memorial built!
***You may not like his politics, but nobody can say that Tony Libri isn't a patriot. He is a friend of the show & we appreciate his service to our country.
***Many, many, many hurdles for the gay high school in Chicago. What is 'social justice', anyway?
***If you can handle getting thru this New Republic column, notice all of the side comments about how supporters at a McCain-Palin rally are dressed. I don't recall any piece from National Review that commented on how The Obama's supporters are dressed.
And, the far-left coastal media wonder aloud why people think they are out of touch?
***Great piece on stuff The Obama does, should and will regret.
***A town in Mass has decided that if a kid is caught riding a bike w/out a helmet, the police have the right to confiscate the bike! Riding a bike - or scooter or in-line skates - without a helmet is illegal for anyone younger than 17 in Massachusetts. But Gatchell said he's noticed crowds of youngsters riding in his town without head protection. Bradford Jackson, Holliston school superintendent, said that outside the schools, he's seen an increase in bike riders, given the warm weather.
