Impeachment or Indictment? Both, please.
***The Trib seems to think that Rezko is singing and something is likely to happen soon with Crazy Rod: The Tribune reported on Sunday that convicted political fixer Tony Rezko has talked to federal prosecutors and may cooperate in their investigation of the governor's administration. At closing arguments in Rezko's trial, a federal prosecutor told jurors that his crimes involved "the highest levels of power in Illinois." Rezko has refused to help investigators—until, apparently, now.
The Trib thinks an indictment will come but even if it doesn't they add to the case that an investigation for impeachment is warranted: Illinois will have to put up with another two years of Blagojevich as governor if he serves his full term. That won't be pretty. He gets more reckless and isolated by the day as he tries to assert influence over a legislature that ignores him as much as it can.
Do we really have to put up with this for another two years? It's starting to look like the answer will be: No.
Members of the House, please investigate. Move for impeachment. Move to rid our state of this dangerous megalomaniac who has no business being our Governor. Now.
***If The Obama and the Dems can keep it about the economy, they might have a chance at this thing. If the bailout bill works to stabilize Wall Street and October isn't so bad, The Obama might have some difficulty. If there is an October Surprise by bin Laden or Iran or N. Korea, The Obama is cooked.
***Trib looks at photo enforcement of speeders in construction zones. It appears that the State's big plans to take a pic of everyone isn't actually working...ever. Makes you wonder about all of the cameras that are out there in the state and in munis - are those working or accomplishing anything?
