***Well, it only took 6 years for someone in the Democratic party to realize that IL is a mess BECAUSE of the Dems and because of the George Ryan.  Of course, Tricky Dicky Durbin says he can't fix it:  He said he doesn’t know what it will take to fix the problems or whether he or anyone else in Washington could help cut through the morass.
“I don’t know that I could ride to the rescue of our state government,” Durbin said. “They have to own up to their own responsibility.”

Why is it, again, that this guy keeps getting returned to DC?  This is what he wants us to believe and this must be what he tells himself as he drifts off to sleep:  Durbin noted his leadership role in Congress elevates what he can do for the Land of Lincoln during a critical time for policymaking.  “I want to be at the table to help make these decisions. And if I’m at the table, Illinois is at the table, and so is my hometown of Springfield,” Durbin said.

If this were actually the case, then why is IL still a HUGE donor state?  Why do we only get back about 74 cents for every dollar we send?  When he was a Dem big shot and the Speaker was from IL, why didn't IL get anything for its troubles?

Durbin is great at sounding like a moderate who cares when he in home in IL but when he gets to DC, he is a gigantic liberal who can't ever remember where he comes from.  Remember, he said, he'd rather go to Baghdad than Springfield to hammer things out.
