***Almost there and we are still finding out just how leftist The Obama is:  "If somebody wants to build a coal power plant they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted," Barack Obama said to the San Francisco Chronicle in January.

So, all of that IL coal and those communities that would like to increase coal mining jobs and utility jobs.  The Obama is fine with that as long as we are willing to pay so much money that we won't be able to have the jobs, the mines or the plants.  Energy will cost enormous sums of money under The Obama.  Do you think electricity rates will go down?  Do you think we will explore more US sources of oil, gas & coal under The Obama?

This, by the way, is audio that another CA newspaper has been suppressing, for our own good, since January.  The LA Times still won't release the video of The Obama at the PLO dinner...

***The Sun-Times is right - USA Patrick Fitzgerald should stay in Chicago for as long as possible.  Put them all away and be quick about Blago.

***Krugman makes the argument today that when the GOP loses tomorrow, it will become even more right wing and out of touch with mainstream Americans:  But the G.O.P.’s long transformation into the party of the unreasonable right, a haven for racists and reactionaries, seems likely to accelerate as a result of the impending defeat.  This, of course, is the guy who just won a Nobel and all he can do is call Republicans racists and reactionaries.

The thing is, Paul, when the Dems were handed their hat in 2000 and in 2004, they became a party of MoveOn and ACORN.  The Dems went far, far left and are completely out of the mainstream America.  Polls continue to show that Americans view themselves as center-right and not loony left.  The GOP will not collapse under the weight of a Dem victory, if one occurs.  The Dems, as they have always done in the last 25 years, will shoot themselves in the foot and the pendullum will swing in 2010.

***Of course, Mayor Davlin believes that The Obama will be a big boost for Springfield.  Afterall, Davlin had cocktails with him at Floyd's so, ergo, The Obama will flood Springfield with oodles of pork projects.  Clearly, Davlin's relationship with another famous Chicagoan has greatly assisted Springfield.  Crazy Rod & Davlin have protected the job base in Springfield.  They've paved the streets in gold.  With Tricky Dicky Durbin's help, the Eastside Community Center is a reality & the intermodal transportation hub is close to completion.

Oh, that's right.  None of that crap has happened.  Can't wait for all of the great stuff from The Obama, if he wins.

***Goudie from the Daily HeraldDespite the whining and complaining about Americans around the world these days, we are the most generous, merciful and possibly least-appreciated people on all the earth. If "Change" is indeed coming, then those attributes need to be left alone.  As long as 40 years ago, when I first started to read newspapers, I read of famine in India and earthquakes in South America. Who rushed in to help with workers, money, food, clothes and blankets?

The Americans did.

Not big companies. Not made-up superheroes like Joe the Plumber. Just regular Joes, sending their dollars and saying their prayers.  A few years ago, Americans sent help after flooding in Guyana; and we sent emergency relief this summer when the Saptakoshi River topped retaining walls in Nepal. When distant cities are hit by tsunamis, it is the United States that hurries into help... Southeast Asia was the most recent example where 170,000 people died.

When Chicago's Loop was flooded, when 739 people died in Chicago's heat wave, when tornadoes flattened homes and businesses in Plainfield and Utica, nobody showed up from Europe or Asia to help.  When Hurricane Katrina wrecked the U.S. Gulf Coast, the U.S. declined almost all offers of outside help and struggled through it alone.
