Got 'Em Right Where We Want 'Em

***Can there be any argument that Illinois Dems have destroyed the State of Illinois?  The largest city in the state is leading the nation in murders and highest tax rates.  The State has been fully governed by Democrats for the last 6 years.  They have racked up an additional $9B in spending, raised taxes and fees and still cannot pay their bills.  Blago has myopically pursued universal health care to the overall detriment of every other aspect of Illinois government and has failed at all parts of his health care scheme.

Hynes yesterday said IL is $4B behind in bills.  Essentially, that means Blago's meager attempts at health care have been financed by loans from medical professionals who are not being paid, by state vendors who provide essential functions to the state who are not being paid and by virtually every other group that interacts with the State because their services are not being properly addressed.

This crisis is entirely the making of and continuation of the Democrats in Illinois.  Blago, Jones, Madigan & Daley.  GRyan was corrupt.  GRyan raised taxes and spent money like a whore.  GRyan, though, did not drive the state to the utter brink of financial oblivion.

Consider this, when GRyan took over from Edgar 10 years ago, the State was about $2B in the black, services were being provided, the billing cycle was about 15-20 days to pay vendors, parks and historic sites were not only open, they were being expanded, welfare to work was a successful program, CPS had been turned over to Daley to run, the GOP and the Dems worked together to make Illinois a better place.

With one party rule populated by those who created or who were brought up in Chicago machine politics, Illinois is faltering.  Why anyone would vote to give Illinois Democrats another chance is beyond me.

***Speaking of higher taxes for Dems, they're getting ready to come after you beer, wine and spirits.  Well, you know, it'll save lives.  Whatever...

***Hilary Clinton as Secretary of State.  Really.  What exactly is her international experience again?  Oh, yeah.  A term as US Senator and the wife of a President.  But, since she went to fancy East Coast schools, certainly she has experience to run a giant bureaucracy and interact at the highest levels during great times of crisis.  Cool.

***The Trib editorializes on gerrymandering in IL.  Of course, they use Phil Hare's seat as an extreme example and it surely is a aweful map that doesn't serve anyone.  Well, except for the Quad Cities where the population can dictate the seat remains in Dem hands forever.  The Trib is right.  For the next map, upcoming in two years, Illinois needs to do what other states do, use a computer and obey the Constitution.

***It is interesting that the NYT editorializes about restoring the rule of law under The Obama with the assistance of Sen Feingold of WI.  NYT says that during the last eight years, "American legal traditions have been degraded in areas ranging from domestic spying to government secrecy."  They, of course, blame only Bush and those in the Administration.  Of course, many of those plans were passed by Congress and voted approvingly by The Obama!  But to continue their hypocrisy of decrying only the supposed rights violations they don't like, NYT then pats Feingold on the head for his work on McCain-Feingold.  This, of course, was legislation that severly curtailed Freedom of Speech for everyday voters.  NYT and other Big Media, though, were exempted so it was good law.

Did you hear Blago tell Channel 20 last night that he HAD to have a private jet. After all, Illinois is the 3rd largest state. Tell that to Sarah Palin who put the Alaska Governor's airplane on Ebay! Who's the dummy?
