OMG!!! It's Thanksgiving Week!!!

***The coastal media is already camped out at the airports doing the obligatory story about how many people are or aren't traveling this weekend.  Even though they are quoting airline sources saying that ridership is down about 7%, they are still warning people to get to the airports early and be patient.  Such good advice.  Because it is so easy to be patient at an airport when kids are screaming, ticketing agents are unhelpful and planes are constantly late, late, late.

***Who was surprised yesterday to wake up and read that ratepayers shouldn't think about rate cuts from CWLP?  Go ahead.  Be brave.  Raise your hand if you ACTUALLY thought you would see a rate cut under this administration?  Sucker.

What did we say on the show last week when the budget proposal to move more $$$ from CWLP to the city's general fund was announced?  We clearly asked, what about the utilities infrastructure?  How are we going to pay for that if we move so much money to the city?  In other words, the Davlin blue ribbon task force proposed a back door tax increase when CWLP has to come to ratepayers for a rate increase to cover infrastructure needs.  This is what Dir Renfrow said in the SJRTodd Renfrow, CWLP general manager, said an increased contribution to the city’s general fund from the utility probably would consume the rate reduction.  “The reason I can’t do both right now (is) I’m not going to jeopardize the essential infrastructure needs of the utility,” he said.

***NYT today considers how 'bipartisan' The Obama's transition has been.  After all, the paper of record points out, The Obama has dispatched Emanuel to meet with GOP leadership in DC, named as TresSec a guy who worked for the Fed while Bush was in office [we don't know if he is GOP or Dem] and is considering a guy for Nat Sec Advisor who once spoke at a McCain event [again, we don't know if he is Dem or GOP].  This in the minds of NYT fully balances out the far left leaning appointments The Obama has already made or is rumored to make:  Emanual, Podesta, HClinton, the ED from EMILY's list - these and others do not show a willingness to be bi-partisan.  But to the NYT and their readers, if The Obama speaks, even thru an intermediary, with members of the GOP, he is bipartisan.  Of course, when Bush would not adopt each and every liberal policy and program that Pelosi & Reid wanted, he was a tried and true Right Winger...
