***So, a week after the City Council passes the budget based on tax increases and shifting gobs of $$$ from CWLP, the Davlin Adminstration announces that virtually all of Muni Center West has to be overahauled. Nothing like waiting until the horse is out of the barn to avoid awkward questions...
***IL GOP 'leaders' sound more and more like IL Dems every single day. At the same time saying that they don't really want to see tax increases, both Cross and Radogno indicated that they saw a need for new revenues. What about cuts? What about identifying waste in Blago's IL Govt? What about targetting the $9B in added spending over the last 6 years? Hello? Anyone in there?
***The Dems are always harping about the evil, corporate influence in politics. The union chant right now is pass Card Check so that they can compete with big evil corporations to get people signed up to be in unions WITHOUT SECRET BALLOTS. Unions argue that they should be able to coerce and pressure workers into signing up for union membership without the icky constraints of Federal oversight.
Well, the biggest winner in Card Check is SEIU and they have decided to throw a QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS in advertising behind Feigenholz to replace Rahm Emanuel in the IL 5th Congressional District.

***Speaking of Emanuel, this story has been out in the conservative blogs for more than a week. The Chicago Trib finally gets around to it but pretty much pooh-poohs the whole thing. Really, what is $100,000 of free rent between friends when you're in The Obama's inner circle?
